"The hotel was nasty, grimy, and grim. The sign was small, and there were about a dozen people smoking in front. The pillows were the size of footballs, and the bathroom was appalling. The front desk clerks were indifferent, but the maintenance men who came to fix the TV were nice. Stay somewhere else.2019-05-06"
"Nice hotel with spacious rooms. The mattresses were too firm. Guests had to call the clerk to open the parking gate after hours; depending on where the clerk was, the wait could be a bit long. There was construction going on in front of the building.2016-01-04"
"The hotel building was historic, and there was no elevator. Nice, clean room. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice continental breakfast with a variety of choices.2015-10-21"
"Comfortable room, great service, and yummy breakfast. Stay at this hotel.2015-10-20"

"Excellent location within walking distance of everything. The room was clean, and the employees were polite and welcoming.2020-01-06"
"Convenient to the conference center and some good restaurants. The hotel had no character, though the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful with information about the property. I had trouble with the key card, but once I got in the room, I was pleasantly surprised by the size and quality. The lounge and work areas were adequate. It took 10 minutes to get hot water in the shower, though, and the sink didn't have cold water. Breakfast was plentiful and OK, but it was the same every day and the dining area didn't have enough seating. Great happy hour. The business center and pool area were fine. My biggest disappointment was that renovations were underway during my stay.2019-09-30"
"Great location. Our 2-room suite was outstanding, and we thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The kitchen allowed us the option of cooking and staying in. Enjoy your hotel stay.2019-02-04"
"I heard some noise in my 1st floor hotel room. Breakfast was average. I had to pay $38 to park my car at a lot several blocks away.2017-09-24"

"I was pleased with the hotel, location, and staff. The rates were reasonable. Close to the hop-on-hop-off bus. The hotel room was large. Many options at breakfast, and there was a light dinner with beer and wine. The parking special was appreciated, though parking was tight.2019-05-04"
"Close to attractions and a short walk to Jackson Square. The room was clean and spacious, and the hotel staff was helpful and courteous. Easy check-in.2017-04-20"
"Close to everything we wanted to do, but in a safe and quiet area. The hotel was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room had comfortable beds and a small kitchen. The only negative was that the towels were a bit rough. Good breakfast and coffee in the social room each morning. I highly recommend staying here.2016-10-03"

"Great location. Adequate hotel, but it was in the midst of renovation and somewhat messy. The room was nice and spacious. Not enough front desk clerks, so check-in took a while, but all the employees were friendly and polite. I did enjoy having the complimentary breakfast delivered to the room.2016-01-04"
"Nice hotel, and we appreciated that the clerk stored our luggage until our room was available. Good valet service, but the driveway wasn't kept clear for people arriving and departing. No complimentary breakfast, and the restaurant was expensive.2018-04-30"

"I liked my 36th floor room. The meal prices at the hotel were too high, though.2020-02-18"
"I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean, nicely appointed, and had great views of Canal Street and the French Quarter. The lobby was large and bright, and the property was well-maintained. Parking was expensive; we found a garage a few blocks away that cost half as much.2016-07-18"
"We got in from our cruise at 8 AM and went to the hotel to have them hold our bags until check-in time. We were surprised to find that they already had a room ready and checked us in right away.2018-01-02"

Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
