One of the top attractions is the famous Louisiana Boardwalk, a classy shopping area, with over 60 oulet stores and restaurants. It's just across the Red River from downtown Shreveport.
In the Red River District, adults can enjoy the Eldorado Resort Casino and the city's numerous restaurants and night clubs.
For family fun, visit the Sci-Port Science Center and Splash Kingdom Waterpark. There are a number of historic homes open to visitors, as well as museums and the well-regarded R.W. Norton Art Gallery.
If the great outdoors is more your style, visit Cypress Black Bayou, Caddo Lake, and the Red River National Wildlife Refuge.
As you might expect, there are festivals and events throughout the year in Shreveport, including various music festivals, Mardi Gras parades in the spring, and the state fair in the fall. You'll find plenty of shops, original art, and great music in town.
