"Wonderful location off the main roads, so it was fairly quiet. Great restaurants nearby. The hotel room was spacious and clean, and had all the amenities you'd expect. The staff was gracious and accommodating. I'd definitely return.2015-05-18"
"The Plaza definitely lived up to its reputation as one of New York's most luxurious hotels. With gilded gold and crystal chandeliers covering every surface, we felt like we had stepped back in time to Louis XIV's France. The rooms are some of the largest in the city, with huge bathrooms and plenty of storage. Service was first class. The food was excellent. Don't miss the afternoon tea in the Palm Court. We didn't try out the full-service spa, but the 24-hour gym was well-appointed and included both a Peloton bike and Peloton treadmill. Located on the corner of Central Park and Fifth Avenue, the hotel is well situated for a relaxing stroll or a shopping adventure. And when you return at the end of the day, the tranquility of the hotel lobby and the Champagne Room is a delightful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Plaza is expensive, but if you're looking to splurge, it's worth it!2023-02-01"
"I had a wonderful stay. Great location and service. The hotel was elegant, with gold and crystal everywhere. Even the less expensive room was spacious, and no corners were cut in the decor. I hope to return.2023-01-31"

"Convenient to museums and theaters near Broadway. High rates, but about what one expects in NYC. The room was comfortable and had the amenities I needed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. 2017-10-03"
"No roll-in showers, but the staff went above and beyond to find us a room that worked. Outstanding customer service. The hotel clerk was helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant was too expensive.2019-05-27"
"Great location. The bed was comfortable, and we were able to take advantage of the hotel exercise room.2019-04-03"
"Definitely a high-end hotel with quality service and amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cab and other transportation services were right at the door. The restaurant ambiance and food were outstanding, as was the room service.2019-02-16"
"Low rates. Hotel room finishes were unreasonably dated. Some areas were significantly deteriorated. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was mediocre. The elevator wasn't in great shape.2015-04-14"
"Good experience. The hotel was conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, and the rates were reasonable. My room was comfortable, and the staff was helpful and courteous. The restaurant was modest.2022-11-08"
"The hotel was bare-bones and shabby. The front desk clerk was friendly and competent. Long wait for the elevators. Look for other options.2022-10-10"
"The hotel room was dingy and dimly lit, and the furniture needed to be replaced. The bedsheets didn't smell fresh, and the pillows were old. The staff was friendly, but this place wasn't worth the price. Don't stay here.2022-03-27"
"The room was basic and average, but it had what we needed. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. No microwave in the room, but there was one in the little market. There was also a nice variety of food and other items for sale. The hotel staff was responsive and friendly, and they were on top of any problems or requests we had. No valet parking; we had to drive around the corner to the parking facility, get a ticket, and have it validated by the front desk clerk. There was a Starbucks on the corner, a pharmacy next door, and restaurants nearby. It was easy to hail a taxi in front of the hotel. We had a comfortable stay and were able to store our luggage after checkout while we went to Rockefeller Center.2021-12-10"
"All the hotel employees were fantastic to deal with. No valet parking or food service because of Covid.2021-03-02"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
