"I've stayed at this hotel several time. Services and amenities are reduced because of Covid, but the lower rates made our stay worthwhile. The usual high-quality breakfast has been replaced by a to-go bag. We ate at The Coffee Pot instead.2020-08-16"
"Lovely room with exceptional views of the Red Rocks in back. This hotel was well worth the high price.2015-10-23"
"Great location in Upper Sedona. Walk to restaurants and more. Clean, upscale hotel room. Nice pool and ample parking. The hotel was recommended to me by a person who spends a lot of time in Sedona, and it lived up to the recommendation. Ask for a room with a red rock view. It's great to sit on the balcony and be awed by what you see.2015-06-12"
"For a big resort hotel, I was surprised that there was no cable TV or pay-per-view. There was a water shortage for several hours, and we had to argue to get comped the daily resort fee that day. No newspaper. Parking spots were hard to find by our building, and the pool was too far away from our room.2018-04-30"
Good Afternoon. I have recently stayed at the Sedona Rouge in Sedona, AZ. I
have written a review of the property below. I hope that you will post this
review so that others may learn from my experience. I've also attached a
copy of my booking receipt as proof that I have stayed at the property.
My go-to hotel brand is usually Marriott. However, I noticed that they did
not have any locations in Sedona, so I sought out some reviews to help make
my decision on a place that would be equivalent in quality to Marriott. Most
of what I read about this hotel was positive, so I thought this would be a
very pleasant experience. However, I was highly disappointed and my key
reason for this review is listed in the last paragraph.
When you pull in, the hotel has a pretty average look to it. There isn't
anything to really write home about in terms of luxury. Something that I
expect from any business in the service industry is to make attempts to go
the extra mile to make your experience that best that they can. And so here
comes my issues with Sedona Rouge...
Check in is at 3:00pm. And the hotel is NOT required to allow you in before
then. We arrived at 2:00pm just to see if we were able to get into our room
earlier, or at least leave our bags there since we did have a tour that
started at 3:00pm and it would have been nice to not have our belongings sit
in the heat for 3 hours. After all, this is Sedona in July. Unfortunately,
no help there on the bags or checking in early. Between business and
personal, I spend about 25 nights per year in hotels. This type of service
is usually acceptable with any major or luxury brand hotel.
The room itself was very hot and it seemed like the a/c just struggled to
get the room below 80 degrees. Interesting enough is that while sitting at
the restaurant, another guest was complaining about the same issue. Also,
someone mentioned that the decor in the room was "outstanding." I'm not sure
where they have stayed in the past, but I had a more premium corner room and
the desk was beat up, the faucet leaks, sofa had stains on it, and as far as
"decor" is concerned, well they had an 11x17 picture on the wall... that was
it. The room might be the equivalent of a Holiday Inn Express at best.
Again, this is nothing to write home about.
My wife and I originally had 2 nights booked at this hotel. After hearing of
some nearby wineries that were not on our original agenda, we decided to
pre-pay for an additional night stay at the hotel during our first night.
Unfortunately, a family issue arose, and we would have to leave earlier than
expected. We contacted the office to explain the issue and have this third
night refunded since we would not be here and were giving more than 24hours
notice. After speaking with 2 different managers, they refused to refund
this money. This was quite upsetting. I've been on personal and business
trips where events occurred outside of my control, and the hotel was more
than happy to make the adjustment. Those hotels exibit great customer
service and this is why I make it a point to repeat my business or recommend
those hotels to others. In regards to Sedona Rouge, I must do the opposite.
They is a great looking Hyatt not too far away from this hotel. Do yourself
a favor and check that one out, or another premium brand before booking your
stay here. These people could care less about going the extra mile to make
your experience as pleasurable as possible.

"The condo needed better soundproofing.2017-03-08"
"The condos were nice, though we heard noise from the adjacent suite. No spectacular views as expected. The hotel staff was accommodating at first, but became lukewarm after check-in. One clerk highly recommended a trailhead to a hiking trail nearby, but it was next to a junkyard. Consider another hotel unless you're a member or looking to buy a timeshare.2016-05-02"
"The lodge had a spectacular view of the mesa. My room was just the right size, and had a seating area outside that felt like a personal garden. The meandering creek was an added bonus. Plenty of room for walking our dog, too.2015-02-17"
"A wonderful and economical motel. Great location near Bell Rock and restaurants, stores, and hiking. The room layout was convenient, and the staff graciously allowed a late checkout.2022-10-29"
"Good location with nice views. Easy in and out when driving. Well worth the price. The motel room was clean, and the employees were friendly. Good waffles at breakfast. I'd stay again.2015-05-23"
"The hotel room was clean, nicely decorated, and smelled fresh. The lobby smelled pleasant and clean, and check-in was quick and simple. The battery for the in-room safe was dead, but a maintenance worker was sent up right away to fix it.2023-04-09"
"The hotel was noisy, the bed had minimal support, and I didn't like the key card system.2016-10-19"
"I was pleased with our stay, though renovations were underway. Long walk to breakfast. Try it; it's a fine hotel.2016-03-08"
"I was disappointed that the hotel room wasn't serviced each day. The bathroom floor was dirty, and there was hair on it when I arrived. Dogs in other rooms barked when their owners left the room.2022-07-17"
"Great resort. We had a wonderful stay.2019-10-13"

"The hotel was just off I-40 going west. There was a mall and half a dozen restaurants across the road. Nice, clean, modern room. The sink faucets were an IQ test which I failed. The front desk clerk was really helpful in figuring out why the ice machine didn't work; turned out it was unplugged. I'd stay here again.2022-06-26"
"The hotel was clean, and we slept well.2021-06-26"
"Good hotel stay. I liked having a 1st floor room and going in and out through the sliding door. The courtyard was lovely. The only thing I didn't like was that there were too many dogs.2019-11-10"
"I had a nice hotel stay overall, but a child upstairs ran around and made a lot of noise. An alarm went off as well.2017-12-17"
HotelGuides has won my confidence as a booking experience that is seamless and simple enough for a consumer who does not venture online much. It is now my starting place for fast, secure, carefree booking.
We order the hotels on this page by how close they are to this attraction.

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
