"Nice hotel room and good breakfast. I didn't like the 4PM check-in time, though. We called ahead of time to see if we could get in the room early, but when we arrived at 3:30PM, the room wasn't ready. The manager's 3 dogs were off-leash in the common area and approached our leashed dog in the dark.2017-01-01"

"The hotel seemed overpriced. I had a newly-decorated room on the 3rd floor. The plastic taped on the hallway carpet for protection was slippery. Good breakfast.2017-04-27"
"The hotel was a little expensive for the quality of the room, though I liked that it was dog-friendly. The wireless Internet didn't work, which was inconvenient. All the employees were polite and professional. Good continental breakfast. If you don't have dogs with you, find an alternative.2016-01-18"

"A no-frills place, but the motel served its purpose of a bed and good shower. The room was clean and had a great view. No table or chairs, though. Breakfast was sub-par and the coffee was colored water, so we ate elsewhere.2019-03-24"
"Good location and rates. The motel room was comfortable.2018-10-26"
"The motel had all the basic necessities I needed. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean and the employees were helpful and pleasant. Great breakfast, too. I highly recommend staying here.2018-04-09"

"The hotel was noisy, the bed had minimal support, and I didn't like the key card system.2016-10-19"
"I was pleased with our stay, though renovations were underway. Long walk to breakfast. Try it; it's a fine hotel.2016-03-08"
"The hotel lobby and pool were nice, but the room and hallways smelled like mold and mildew. The carpet was so filthy it was almost black. The bed was old, and the mattress sagged. We had to wipe down the bathroom to remove the mold. No coffee or water in the hospitality area. No public restroom at all. No ice available. I wouldn't want my friends staying here.2015-07-03"
"Clean room, friendly and helpful staff, nice pool and whirlpool, and great breakfast. Highly recommend this hotel.2015-06-12"
"Perfect location. The hotel room was clean. We'll definitely stay again.2015-05-29"
"For a big resort hotel, I was surprised that there was no cable TV or pay-per-view. There was a water shortage for several hours, and we had to argue to get comped the daily resort fee that day. No newspaper. Parking spots were hard to find by our building, and the pool was too far away from our room.2018-04-30"

"The lodge had a spectacular view of the mesa. My room was just the right size, and had a seating area outside that felt like a personal garden. The meandering creek was an added bonus. Plenty of room for walking our dog, too.2015-02-17"

"Lovely room with exceptional views of the Red Rocks in back. This hotel was well worth the high price.2015-10-23"
"Great location in Upper Sedona. Walk to restaurants and more. Clean, upscale hotel room. Nice pool and ample parking. The hotel was recommended to me by a person who spends a lot of time in Sedona, and it lived up to the recommendation. Ask for a room with a red rock view. It's great to sit on the balcony and be awed by what you see.2015-06-12"
"The condo needed better soundproofing.2017-03-08"
"The condos were nice, though we heard noise from the adjacent suite. No spectacular views as expected. The hotel staff was accommodating at first, but became lukewarm after check-in. One clerk highly recommended a trailhead to a hiking trail nearby, but it was next to a junkyard. Consider another hotel unless you're a member or looking to buy a timeshare.2016-05-02"
Good Afternoon. I have recently stayed at the Sedona Rouge in Sedona, AZ. I
have written a review of the property below. I hope that you will post this
review so that others may learn from my experience. I've also attached a
copy of my booking receipt as proof that I have stayed at the property.
My go-to hotel brand is usually Marriott. However, I noticed that they did
not have any locations in Sedona, so I sought out some reviews to help make
my decision on a place that would be equivalent in quality to Marriott. Most
of what I read about this hotel was positive, so I thought this would be a
very pleasant experience. However, I was highly disappointed and my key
reason for this review is listed in the last paragraph.
When you pull in, the hotel has a pretty average look to it. There isn't
anything to really write home about in terms of luxury. Something that I
expect from any business in the service industry is to make attempts to go
the extra mile to make your experience that best that they can. And so here
comes my issues with Sedona Rouge...
Check in is at 3:00pm. And the hotel is NOT required to allow you in before
then. We arrived at 2:00pm just to see if we were able to get into our room
earlier, or at least leave our bags there since we did have a tour that
started at 3:00pm and it would have been nice to not have our belongings sit
in the heat for 3 hours. After all, this is Sedona in July. Unfortunately,
no help there on the bags or checking in early. Between business and
personal, I spend about 25 nights per year in hotels. This type of service
is usually acceptable with any major or luxury brand hotel.
The room itself was very hot and it seemed like the a/c just struggled to
get the room below 80 degrees. Interesting enough is that while sitting at
the restaurant, another guest was complaining about the same issue. Also,
someone mentioned that the decor in the room was "outstanding." I'm not sure
where they have stayed in the past, but I had a more premium corner room and
the desk was beat up, the faucet leaks, sofa had stains on it, and as far as
"decor" is concerned, well they had an 11x17 picture on the wall... that was
it. The room might be the equivalent of a Holiday Inn Express at best.
Again, this is nothing to write home about.
My wife and I originally had 2 nights booked at this hotel. After hearing of
some nearby wineries that were not on our original agenda, we decided to
pre-pay for an additional night stay at the hotel during our first night.
Unfortunately, a family issue arose, and we would have to leave earlier than
expected. We contacted the office to explain the issue and have this third
night refunded since we would not be here and were giving more than 24hours
notice. After speaking with 2 different managers, they refused to refund
this money. This was quite upsetting. I've been on personal and business
trips where events occurred outside of my control, and the hotel was more
than happy to make the adjustment. Those hotels exibit great customer
service and this is why I make it a point to repeat my business or recommend
those hotels to others. In regards to Sedona Rouge, I must do the opposite.
They is a great looking Hyatt not too far away from this hotel. Do yourself
a favor and check that one out, or another premium brand before booking your
stay here. These people could care less about going the extra mile to make
your experience as pleasurable as possible.
