"We stayed here for a week. Convenient to UC Berkeley, BART, and restaurants. The hotel was relatively quiet, the staff was helpful, and the on-site restaurant was interesting. Worth the additional cost. We'll be back.2015-09-04"
"Lovely hotel room. The lobby is small, and not a place where you can hang out unless you want to sit in the restaurant or bar.2015-04-22"
"A wonderful hotel with beautiful views and everything I needed. I enjoyed the pool, whirlpool, restaurant, and bar. Not many restaurants within walking distance, but the location offered an 8-mile walking trail along the water.2023-04-18"
"Good hotel, but breakfast wasn't free.2018-10-10"
"Hotel room was clean and quiet. Enjoyed the off-leash dog park next to the hotel. We'll definitely be back.2015-03-03"
"Everyone and everything at this hotel was great.2018-06-04"
"The hotel room was quiet, even with ongoing construction outside. The staff was pleasant and helpful.2016-08-17"
"Conveniently located. Clean, good-sized room. The only problem was that neither elevator worked, and my room was on the 4th floor. Wear comfortable shoes since there's a lot of walking and there are many hills.2015-10-13"

"A bare-bones hotel with poor soundproofing. Not a good neighborhood. The room didn't have carpeting. No coffee pot or even paper cups. The front of the vanity in the bathroom was broken, and just a sliver of soap was provided. My Uber driver couldn't get through the locked gate to get me; I had to go out of the gate and stand in the rain to wait for him. I had an awful stay.2019-04-07"

"The location near the wharf couldn't have been better. We loved the hotel decor and were able to store our luggage before check-in with no problem. The courtyard was inviting, with large fire pits and lounging areas. 2018-11-18"
I loved that HotelGuides helped me find a hotel. You can try to search for one yourself, but this service was so helpful. Just click on the section of the Interstate you are driving on and you see a list of hotels that actually have rooms available.
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
