"The hotel room was clean but a little cramped for 4 people. The AC was too noisy. I wish the beds were queen-sized instead of full-sized. Pleasant personnel. The free breakfast and parking were much appreciated.2018-08-10"
"The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and all the employees were friendly. This is a good choice.2018-07-05"
"Good rates. Clean hotel with well-trained personnel. Great breakfast, too. Everything was outstanding.2015-12-14"
"The hotel was close to restaurants and gas stations.2022-04-08"
"The hotel was fine except the hair dryer didn't work. The bed was comfortable, and breakfast was great. Good place to stay with your pet.2017-04-06"
"Right on the highway to Constitution Avenue. Excellent hotel, and it was extremely clean. Our room was spacious, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We were very satisfied.2015-10-10"
"Nice location. The hotel was basic and clean, and the staff was helpful.2019-10-09"
"Great location near DCA. Our room had a bad odor, so the hotel clerk apologized and gave us another room. There was hair in the bed in that room, so we were given a 3rd room, and it was satisfactory. We got a free breakfast for our trouble, and it was great. All the employees were cordial and helpful. I wasn't aware of the $10 extra person charge; when I complained, the hotel graciously charged only the basic rate. I'd stay here again.2015-12-02"
"This hotel was just a place to sleep. No shuttle service or daily housekeeping, and the pool wasn't open. No free breakfast. Even the elevator didn't work. Don't stay here.2021-07-03"

"I wasn't happy that I was given a handicap room, which I didn't request. The room was large and had a kitchenette. No carpeting. Everything was clean. The bathroom wasn't great. The hotel clerk was pleasant, and there was a large grassy area where I could walk my dog. The area wasn't the best, though, and there was a homeless person sleeping on the hotel grounds. Breakfast was just coffee and a muffin, but there were lots of restaurants within walking distance. If you're a woman traveling alone, you might not be comfortable with the area.2022-06-28"
"The hotel was reasonably priced, and parking was free. The room was large and clean, with a fridge, microwave, and safe. The bathroom was modern and well-lit. I recommend staying here.2023-03-09"
"There were no towels, shampoo, soap, or toilet paper in my hotel room.2021-02-28"
"The hotel was nice and clean, and the room was good-sized. Absolutely stay here.2019-04-16"
"The hotel had an impersonal feel, though the staff was nice when we asked questions. The TV didn't work properly, but we didn't report it. Nice place, but we're elderly and prefer a personal touch.2016-05-20"
"The area was quiet, and the room was clean. The hotel clerk was courteous.2020-01-18"
"Overall, I was satisfied with this hotel, but the TV had poor reception. We were moved to another room, but it had the same problem. Breakfast was just toast and cereal.2019-01-09"

"We requested a ground floor room but got a 2nd floor room that was was a long walk from the office. Our room was smoke-free, but it reeked of cigarettes and marijuana. No elevator. The hotel didn't have an airport shuttle. Don't stay here.2022-05-21"
"The hotel clerk didn't inform me about the location of the ice and vending machines.2019-06-30"
"The room was pleasant, and the hotel clerk was so very nice. The stairs didn't have a railing, though; it was difficult to get to the room, and I had to have someone help me with my bag.2019-05-31"

"Accessible to many amenities, and nestled in a private townhouse neighborhood. The hotel was clean, quiet, and cozy, and the staff was friendly and helpful. There was a dog-walking area and patio with a fire pit. I felt safe staying here alone.2021-01-05"
"A quiet hotel nestled in the midst of all the activity. The room was quiet and clean. The staff was helpful and accommodated my request for a 1st floor room since I'm disabled and was with my dog. Great cleaning staff, too. 2020-11-25"

"Good stay overall, but this isn't a 4-star hotel. It was old and a little worn, and the water pressure was poor. Great location and reasonable rates, though. Nice, helpful staff.2022-06-28"
"The hotel was nice, but breakfast wasn't included and parking was pricey.2021-11-02"
"Great location; we were surrounded by restaurants and even a Starbucks. Easy access to the metro system. The accommodations were just right for our family of 6. Breakfast ended at 9 AM, but that was the only drawback. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel.2017-01-08"

"The employees were pleasant, but the breakfast attendants were overworked on the weekend and the eating area was unsanitary. There were eggs on the floor and I felt like we were eating out of a trough. Didn't like that parking was valet only. I don't recommend this hotel.2018-04-03"
"Excellent location near the Metro subway, shops, and restaurants. Easy access to many attractions. The hotel staff was friendly.2016-07-03"
"Hotel was located in a great part of town, with restaurants all around and a 24-hour grocery store nearby. Room was large and well-maintained. Friendly, helpful staff and good breakfast. Check with the front desk about rules for guests who need a place to park. Highly recommend.2015-03-02"
"Terrible location. No information in the room about the TV, the area, or local restaurants. The hotel exterior was dirty, and the pool was closed but filthy. Breakfast was a muffin, granola bar, and an apple. The beverage was a bottle of water. I couldn't wait to leave.2021-08-07"
"No AC and poor customer service. Don't stay at this hotel.2018-06-25"
"No AC. The customer service was poor. Don't stay at this hotel.2018-06-22"
"Great location, but this hotel is showing its age. Not quite up to Ritz-Carlton standards. Needed fresh decor and maintenance. The elevators were slow and problematic.2015-04-19"
"The room was a bit dated, but it was comfortable and clean. The hotel clerk was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hallways needed better lighting. Don't hesitate to stay here.2021-04-23"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
