"Not worth the price. The hotel room was old and outdated, and the curtains didn't roll up. It was impossible to control the room temperature. No coffee or tea available.2023-12-09"
"The hotel room wasn't what I expected; the carpet was dirty, and the bedroom door paint was peeling. Don't stay here.2022-05-30"
"The hotel was simply beautiful. I was satisfied with my stay.2020-02-17"
"Good hotel stay. The shower was wonderful, but it didn't have a door and water went everywhere. The doormen were friendly and helpful, and the front desk clerks were professional.2021-11-11"
"Nice hotel overall. The room and bathroom were spacious, and the shower had good water pressure. It took a few minutes for the water to get hot. The electrical outlets weren't convenient to the desk. The employees were helpful. I wasn't keen on the continental breakfast, though. I'd stay here again.2016-06-17"

"The hotel was conveniently located in midtown. The room was really small and had no view. Friendly, helpful personnel. Make sure to check out the rooftop bar.2022-06-15"
"The hotel was wonderful and well worth a stay.2022-08-14"
"A pleasant experience. The room was small but fine for the price, and the views were amazing. The hotel staff was accommodating. Ask for a room on a higher floor.2019-07-19"
"The location was perfect, and the room was clean and comfortable. The elevators were noisy, though. Friendly, accommodating personnel. The breakfast buffet was reasonable.2021-12-31"
"Good location for seeing the Stephen Colbert show, and close to many great restaurants. The bartender on the 4th floor provided great service and was helpful with restaurant suggestions.2021-11-07"
"Convenient to museums and theaters near Broadway. High rates, but about what one expects in NYC. The room was comfortable and had the amenities I needed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. 2017-10-03"
"Not a 5-star hotel, but it was comfortable. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. The wireless Internet connection and sound on the TV kept going out. The TV was small, and the remote control didn't always work. Nice, attentive staff.2016-07-12"
"Everything at this hotel was pricey. The AC in our room was loud, and we had someone knock on our door and ask us to turn down the TV. A housekeeper broke the iron the 3rd day and left it in our room. All the employees were nice.2017-05-21"

"I had a terrible stay. The room was old and dark, and none of the amenities were available because of Covid; no restaurant, bar, bellman. Don't stay at this hotel.2021-06-25"
"Great front desk clerks. A pleasant experience.2015-01-25"
"The Plaza definitely lived up to its reputation as one of New York's most luxurious hotels. With gilded gold and crystal chandeliers covering every surface, we felt like we had stepped back in time to Louis XIV's France. The rooms are some of the largest in the city, with huge bathrooms and plenty of storage. Service was first class. The food was excellent. Don't miss the afternoon tea in the Palm Court. We didn't try out the full-service spa, but the 24-hour gym was well-appointed and included both a Peloton bike and Peloton treadmill. Located on the corner of Central Park and Fifth Avenue, the hotel is well situated for a relaxing stroll or a shopping adventure. And when you return at the end of the day, the tranquility of the hotel lobby and the Champagne Room is a delightful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Plaza is expensive, but if you're looking to splurge, it's worth it!2023-02-01"
"I had a wonderful stay. Great location and service. The hotel was elegant, with gold and crystal everywhere. Even the less expensive room was spacious, and no corners were cut in the decor. I hope to return.2023-01-31"
"The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and professional. The parking garage was at 140 West 51st Street. I'd stay here again.2023-01-25"
"Outstanding location. The hotel room was comfortable and well-appointed. Bell staff was attentive to details. The entry and lobby felt like an oasis from the busy street outside. Light meals were available in the lounge, but there was no on-site restaurant. Ruth Chris and other excellent restaurants were nearby. We'll return.2015-07-15"
"A wonderful oasis in one of the busiest parts of Manhattan. The hotel was elegant, yet comfortable. Spacious and beautiful room. The staff was professional.2015-06-21"
"No roll-in showers, but the staff went above and beyond to find us a room that worked. Outstanding customer service. The hotel clerk was helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant was too expensive.2019-05-27"
"Great location. The bed was comfortable, and we were able to take advantage of the hotel exercise room.2019-04-03"
"Definitely a high-end hotel with quality service and amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Cab and other transportation services were right at the door. The restaurant ambiance and food were outstanding, as was the room service.2019-02-16"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
