"An awful hotel stay. We asked for extra towels and were told we could go downstairs and wait for some. Breakfast was small and the buffet was filthy. Find another place to stay.2016-07-07"
"Not a good hotel atmosphere for me. I wouldn't stay here again.2016-04-10"
"My non-smoking room smelled like smoke, so I couldn't sleep well. You get what you pay for here, so find a better hotel.2015-11-24"
"I loved this hotel. Definitely stay here.2015-11-05"
"This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. I'd planned to stay 3 nights, but left after 1. The entire place was dirty, including the elevator. I was given a handicap room that was dark and dingy, and it smelled like smoke. One light didn't work, and the bed was broken. One of the end doors at the hotel wasn't secure. The check-in clerk was casually dressed and didn't look professional. Don't stay here.2015-06-22"

"The hotel was OK, but the floors were dirty and the overall cleaning needed improvement.2021-01-12"
"This hotel didn't seem safe for women staying alone. The room could've been cleaner, but the staff was friendly and helpful. Adequate breakfast. I wouldn't stay here again.2017-10-03"
"The hotel room was spotless. Excellent breakfast bar and plenty of parking. I'll stay here again.2018-07-27"
"I wasn't able to make local calls using the phone in the hotel room. I wasn't told that I had to push the number 3 on the TV remote control to get it to work. It seemed like non-guests snuck in to partake in the complimentary breakfast.2015-09-10"
"The hotel room was clean and comfortable, and the employees we interacted with were polite and guest-oriented. However, the TV didn't work and the bathtub drained slowly, which made showering uncomfortable.2022-01-07"
"I had a short but pleasant stay at this hotel.2019-04-30"
"The bed was the worst and sagged in the middle. I spent the night sleeping in the chair. Water damage to the ceiling had been repaired but not painted. The ice machine was out of order. Luckily, the staff was pleasant. Find another hotel.2018-01-08"
"The hotel was dark and dingy looking inside, though it was quite clean. The lighting was terrible. I was only able to close the sheers in the window; the curtains didn't close. The TV didn't work well. I was moved to another room, where the TV didn't work at all in the morning. Breakfast was awful, with cheap food and a poor selection.2022-09-30"

"The beds in our hotel room were comfortable, but there was no hot water for showers.2018-11-07"

"The motel room was dirty, and there were cracks in the walls and ceiling. The furniture was damaged, and some items didn't work. The employees were rude and unapproachable. Consider alternatives.2021-06-07"
"I enjoyed my stay. The hotel was nice and clean, and the employees were accommodating.2020-02-02"
"I had an awful experience at this hotel. We had to have the key cards re-set 4 times. This was the worst place I've ever stayed. Go elsewhere.2018-02-05"
"An outstanding hotel stay, but the housekeeper knocked on our door repeatedly despite the Do Not Disturb sign.2016-05-31"
"We arrived at the motel at about 7 PM and were confused about how to enter the property. We finally found the door and fellow let us in after saying he "had to put his pants on." The key card worked for the gate, but not the room. The sofa was stained, and the air vent was dusty. Just a place to sleep.2021-02-16"
"This is a bare-bones motel, so bring your own amenities. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable.2019-02-23"
"The motel smelled like urine. The bed looked worn. When I turned on the lights, the first thing I saw was a roach. The exterior trash bins were full. Don't stay here.2020-10-27"
"The motel was old and had old-building issues. It was well-run, though, and the staff was competent.2019-07-21"
"I didn't feel safe. Don't stay at this motel.2015-05-26"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
