"I called the motel ahead to let them know I'd be arriving at night; the room was ready, and it was nice and spacious. The heater worked well, and I left the fan on all night to block out traffic noise from I-40. My dog and I both slept like a rock. Be aware of the $25 deposit in case of damage.2023-03-12"
"This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. The entire place was filthy. The closet doors were off the tracks, and there was mold on the bathroom wall. The front desk clerk woke me up in the middle of the night trying to locate the owner of an illegally parked car. Stay away.2020-06-03"
"The hotel smelled clean, and the decor was nice. Friendly personnel. I recommend staying here.2017-01-07"

"We were given an already-occupied room, but the hotel clerk gave us an upgrade for the error. The front desk was understaffed. Find another place to stay.2016-06-06"

"Good value, but I heard a lot of road noise at this motel. It might not be the best place for light sleepers.2015-11-30"
"Good motel, and the room was clean. I'd stay here again.2015-11-22"
"The motel was affordable, and the room was decent and clean. The pool looked like it was permanently out of order. Breakfast was cereal and toast, and the 24-hour coffee was in a thermos on the counter.2015-10-26"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
