"Low rates. Hotel room finishes were unreasonably dated. Some areas were significantly deteriorated. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was mediocre. The elevator wasn't in great shape.2015-04-14"
"The hotel was horrible and overpriced. The room was small and smelled like mold and cigarettes. No breakfast or parking. The housekeeper tried to enter my room before checkout time. Don't stay here.2021-03-04"

"Not worth the price. The hotel room was old and outdated, and the curtains didn't roll up. It was impossible to control the room temperature. No coffee or tea available.2023-12-09"
"The hotel room wasn't what I expected; the carpet was dirty, and the bedroom door paint was peeling. Don't stay here.2022-05-30"
"The hotel was simply beautiful. I was satisfied with my stay.2020-02-17"
"The hotel was filthy and had broken doors and mirrors. The heater sounded like a freight train. Although we'd booked for 3 nights, we left after 1. Don't stay here.2017-11-17"
"The hotel was clean and well-kept, but the Internet connection was poor. I was on a business trip, so it caused some inconvenience. The staff was friendly and helpful.2017-09-09"
"The hotel room was small and dated, and there was no on-site parking. The $35 voucher for parking was a joke.2017-07-11"

"Everything at this hotel was pricey. The AC in our room was loud, and we had someone knock on our door and ask us to turn down the TV. A housekeeper broke the iron the 3rd day and left it in our room. All the employees were nice.2017-05-21"
"The Plaza definitely lived up to its reputation as one of New York's most luxurious hotels. With gilded gold and crystal chandeliers covering every surface, we felt like we had stepped back in time to Louis XIV's France. The rooms are some of the largest in the city, with huge bathrooms and plenty of storage. Service was first class. The food was excellent. Don't miss the afternoon tea in the Palm Court. We didn't try out the full-service spa, but the 24-hour gym was well-appointed and included both a Peloton bike and Peloton treadmill. Located on the corner of Central Park and Fifth Avenue, the hotel is well situated for a relaxing stroll or a shopping adventure. And when you return at the end of the day, the tranquility of the hotel lobby and the Champagne Room is a delightful reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Plaza is expensive, but if you're looking to splurge, it's worth it!2023-02-01"
"I had a wonderful stay. Great location and service. The hotel was elegant, with gold and crystal everywhere. Even the less expensive room was spacious, and no corners were cut in the decor. I hope to return.2023-01-31"
"Convenient to museums and theaters near Broadway. High rates, but about what one expects in NYC. The room was comfortable and had the amenities I needed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. 2017-10-03"
"Good hotel stay. The shower was wonderful, but it didn't have a door and water went everywhere. The doormen were friendly and helpful, and the front desk clerks were professional.2021-11-11"
"Nice hotel overall. The room and bathroom were spacious, and the shower had good water pressure. It took a few minutes for the water to get hot. The electrical outlets weren't convenient to the desk. The employees were helpful. I wasn't keen on the continental breakfast, though. I'd stay here again.2016-06-17"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
