"The exterior door of the hotel was left unlocked at night. The fridge in our room wasn't plugged in, but we didn't find out until it was too late. Both beds had sharp edges that stuck out under the bedspread, and my son cut his leg on one of them. No hot water for shower, and we didn't get enough towels. The pool was cold, and it didn't open until noon, and checkout was at 11 AM. The recommended restaurant across the street overcharged me. I don't think I'd stay here again.2016-02-16"
"There was nothing at all wrong with my motel room, and it was clean. The front desk clerk never smiled at us, though, and there was nothing available for breakfast. Considering the price, I'd stay again, but I'm not picky.2016-12-18"
"Average motel. The bedspread was dirty. Adequate if you just need a place to sleep for a night.2016-07-12"
"We spent 2 nights at this motel. The room was clean and perfect for our needs. We were very satisfied and definitely recommend staying here.2015-07-28"
"Good value. The room was comfortable and clean.2017-08-23"
"The room wasn't as clean as I expected, and the wireless Internet connection was slow. The beds were OK. There are other options in the area.2016-07-20"
"The resort had dog-friendly rooms. Our was clean and better than I expected. Nice place; I'd stay here again.2016-07-13"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
