"I'm handicapped, but the hotel clerk said my room was on the 2nd floor; there was no elevator, so housekeeping cleaned a 1st floor room for me. No breakfast because of Covid.2021-01-28"
"This hotel was disgusting. We weren't told that there was no daily housekeeping, or that we had to line up the next day to plead for fresh towels. The sliding door was broken. There were high weeds outside of the entire building, and there were cigarette butts and beer cans around the entrances. When I returned later from dinner, I found two people drinking and smoking at the entrance steps. There was a man inside who appeared to be so high that he could barely speak. The pet fee was $50, which was laughable considering the condition of the property. Don't stay here.2021-05-20"
"Easy access to the expressway. The hotel felt dirty and had an odor. There was an exposed wire from the smoke detector on the ceiling. The bathroom light was burned out, so the front desk clerk replaced it. The sink and bathtub stoppers were broken, and the walls were dirty. We had to sign a no-smoking form, but our room smelled like residual smoke and the hallway smelled like marijuana. Litter in the hallway was there the next day. The pool wasn't open because of Covid. Don't have any expectations if you stay here.2020-07-29"

"The hotel had no Covid-19 precautions. Our room wasn't properly cleaned, and there was hair on the carpet and the wall by the bed. The bedskirt was dirty, and the recliner was filthy; there were even dead bugs under the seat cushion. The printer in the business center was out of ink. No breakfast. Worst of all was the employee who had apparently contracted the virus and hadn't been tested since returning to work. The exterior door in back wasn't locked, and the door handle plate was missing. Don't stay here.2020-06-01"
"The 1st room was a dump, and the TV didn't work. The 2nd room wasn't any better. The bathroom sink took forever to drain. The housekeeper took the used towels but didn't leave fresh ones. We'd never stay at this hotel again.2021-01-21"
"The hotel exterior looked old, but the lobby and eating area were clean. The heating and cooling unit was noisy; I had to ask for maintenance, and he said the bent cover was the source of the noise, so he took it off. The bedsheets were nice and soft, and I liked the duvet cover. The pillows were too soft. The carpet was stained. The caulking in the bathroom needed cleaning, and the toilet tank cover didn't fit. On a positive note, a make-up remover kit was provided. The check-in clerk was polite and professional. The elevator was small and shook.2022-11-06"

"A miserable experience. The people in the room upstairs were noisy. I told the front desk clerk twice, but nothing was done. One of the stove burners didn't work, and the microwave sounded like it was going to blow up. The mattress slid off the bed, and the chairs weren't comfortable. The towels were paper-thin. I had to take my trash to the dumpster myself. Don't stay at this hotel.2019-09-11"

"The room was filthy and awful. The furniture was damaged, and the fridge was missing. There were holes in the walls, and the shower didn't work and didn't have a stopper. The vending machines were empty. Don't stay at this hotel.2023-02-27"
"Easy access from the highway. The hotel was sufficient for our one-night stay. Renovations were underway. Nice room and friendly, helpful employees.2022-08-04"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
