"Cheap hotel, and you get what you pay for. The room was clean, but the bathtub was filthy. The fridge didn't get cold enough, so I had to throw away some of my food. No warning about the step down at the exit. The staff was unfriendly. Not a romantic getaway spot; it's best suited for truckers.2020-09-27"
"The hotel room was clean, and the staff was helpful and pleasant. Go for it.2018-03-06"
"The hotel was old but nice. Quiet room with a good bed, but the pillows were crappy. The $5 breakfast was good.2016-10-31"
"Great experience. The hotel was clean.2016-05-24"
"OK hotel. I had maintenance come to repair the running toilet, but it continued to run. The housekeeper wanted to clean the room early, and didn't come back until very late when we requested more time. No Do Not Disturb sign available. The employees were friendly. I'd stay here again.2016-05-01"
"There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, and I felt like I had to wrestle with the faucet to turn on the water. The toilet paper roller was missing. I stayed for a week, and the WiFi didn't work for 5 days. I kept calling the motel clerk, who said there was nothing she could do about it. The only positive was that there was no pet fee.2020-11-27"
"The motel was just OK. Don't expect much.2019-01-23"
"A pleasant motel. I expected a fridge and ironing board for the price.2017-06-05"
"The motel room was great, and everything worked. I was able to watch the Tigers baseball game since the TV had the Fox Sports Detroit channel. Be aware of road construction in the area.2016-09-07"
"This motel was just what we were looking for.2015-07-20"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
