"This hotel was a rat hole. Don't stay here.2021-05-08"
"The room was clean other than the worn and shabby sofa. The bed was OK and fairly comfortable. The front desk area smelled like cooking, but the hotel clerk was nice. OK place to stay.2017-11-11"
"Close to restaurants and stores. The hotel was older, but the room was clean and had a microwave, fridge, and coffee pot. The paint and linens were fresh. The staff was friendly. I'd stay here again.2017-10-24"
"Nice, affordable hotel with friendly, helpful front desk clerks. They went out of their way to help me find a store where I could get help with my phone. I was pleased.2018-06-22"
"The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Great pillows; I've never slept so well at a hotel before. The employees were friendly and polite, and the indoor pool was amazing. Bring your swimsuit; you won't be disappointed. Delicious continental breakfast. This would be my choice if I returned to Mundelein.2015-11-03"
"My stay was great. The beds were comfortable, and it was nice having a microwave and fridge in the room. Other than the construction noise, I definitely recommend this hotel.2015-09-27"
"There was trash in the lobby, and the hotel clerk looked like she just got out of bed. The hallway smelled like marijuana, and the clientele made me uncomfortable. Run away.2022-11-08"
"Located in a somewhat shady area. The bedding was stained and had cigarette burns, even in my non-smoking room. The iron was dirty, and I couldn't change the settings. The hotel clerk didn't acknowledge me when I arrived and seemed bothered that I was there. Expect the bare minimum of everything here, from cleanliness to hospitality.2020-07-10"
"Not worth the price - didn't look like online photos - room wasn't clean - carpet was stained - bedsheets were dirty - garbage can hadn't been emptied - front desk clerk was watching TV and ignored me for 5 minutes while I waited for assistance - I didn't stay.2012-06-01"
"Fairly good, low-key location. I had a good hotel stay, but had trouble with the key card and had to go to the front desk a few times for replacements. There was a tavern next door.2016-02-18"
"The hotel was under renovation, but the service was great. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Stay here if you're looking for a nice place with great employees.2015-06-08"
"Quiet hotel with clean rooms. Check-in was easy.2020-01-16"
"Nice hotel with easy access to highways. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was small and indoors. About 20 minutes from the Navy graduation, and there were restaurants and malls within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.2017-09-12"
"Many restaurants and stores nearby, and convenient to the naval base. The executive king suite had hardwood floors, a vessel sink, a sectional sofa, and nice, clean, white bed linens. There was a bar downstairs, and room service was available. Stay at this hotel.2017-07-19"

HotelGuides made it easy to choose a hotel based on how far we wanted to get that day. Also liked being able to see the interstate interchange on the map to determine how far off the highway each hotel was.
On place pages like this, we order hotels from lowest cost to highest except we list low-rated hotels at the bottom of the page.
Most of our competitors order these same hotels in other ways that make them more money.
How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
