"Close to BART and the freeway. More than worth the price. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the employees were friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was more than sufficient. We'd stay here again.2017-08-03"

"A bare-bones hotel with poor soundproofing. Not a good neighborhood. The room didn't have carpeting. No coffee pot or even paper cups. The front of the vanity in the bathroom was broken, and just a sliver of soap was provided. My Uber driver couldn't get through the locked gate to get me; I had to go out of the gate and stand in the rain to wait for him. I had an awful stay.2019-04-07"
"People talked outside my room at all hours of the night. Find another motel.2019-03-21"
"A cheap alternative to downtown hotels, but this motel was noisy and had questionable individuals loitering on the premises. Minimal housekeeping and breakfast.2016-03-31"
"Something bit my boyfriend while we were sleeping, and the motel clerks weren't friendly. Stay somewhere cleaner.2016-01-12"
"Good location. A nice, no-frills hotel. My room smelled like decades of stale smoke and definitely needed some updating. Great customer service.2016-02-23"
"The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful.2022-07-19"
"Close to Kaiser hospital, and everything was within driving distance. Nice, clean room. The hotel staff was the best; they were helpful, understanding, and polite. Make your reservation.2021-12-21"
"Nice, clean room. The hotel staff was friendly, polite, and courteous. I had an enjoyable stay.2018-09-20"

"We were given a clean, upgraded room with a great view and nice balcony. Great food and bartender, and the price was unbeatable. Breakfast was super. I definitely recommend this hotel, and I liked that it was pet-free. Ask for a water view.2016-03-28"
"Everyone and everything at this hotel was great.2018-06-04"
"The hotel room was quiet, even with ongoing construction outside. The staff was pleasant and helpful.2016-08-17"
"Conveniently located. Clean, good-sized room. The only problem was that neither elevator worked, and my room was on the 4th floor. Wear comfortable shoes since there's a lot of walking and there are many hills.2015-10-13"
"We stayed here for a week. Convenient to UC Berkeley, BART, and restaurants. The hotel was relatively quiet, the staff was helpful, and the on-site restaurant was interesting. Worth the additional cost. We'll be back.2015-09-04"
"Lovely hotel room. The lobby is small, and not a place where you can hang out unless you want to sit in the restaurant or bar.2015-04-22"
"A basic but nice motel, and the location was convenient and safe. The beds were comfortable and looked new, and the bathroom was surprisingly updated.2017-06-29"
"The motel was near UC Berkeley, and fairly cheap for those on a budget. The room was neat, but the bathroom had peeling paint and moldy baseboards. The staff was OK.2021-10-17"
"The motel staff was rude. This place isn't even worth considering.2018-06-23"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
