"The hotel was right downtown, so I was able to walk to restaurants and shops. The room was a bit dated but nice, clean, and good-sized. Excellent front desk clerks. Beautiful lounge area, but the wine list wasn't that good. Breakfast was fine and the service was good. Ask for a room with a view.2017-09-12"
"The hotel room was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was awesome. Valet parking was pricey. I really enjoyed my stay.2016-08-18"
"Good downtown location near many restaurants and attractions. The well-equipped lobby was on the 2nd floor, with secured guest access to other floors. The room was clean and had nice bedding and towels. The pool and exercise room were good options. Nice breakfast for a reasonable price. One issue was that I wasn't able to get a taxi to pick me up at the airport at 1 AM.2021-08-02"

"Great location near a lot of attractions like Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, and Pike's Peak. The room was quiet, and the motel employees were friendly and helpful. Nice little diner across the street called Mo's. 2019-06-03"

"Clean, comfortable room. The staff was friendly and helpful; they went out of their way to help my wife while I was having surgery. Great lobby and bar. Breakfast was good. Plan on a nice experience.2022-05-13"
"Great hotel with friendly personnel. Try the IHOP in the parking lot.2020-06-16"
"The room and bathroom lighting were poor, and I couldn't operate the barn door for the bathroom; it was too heavy and had a sharp handle. The window shades were also difficult to use. We could smell food outside our room. Stay at another hotel.2019-10-27"
"The staff was accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.2019-10-25"

"We're seniors and the motel had no elevator, but we were given a room on the 2nd floor. A nice housekeeper saw us struggling with our luggage and offered to help. The lamp shades weren't held in place and fell off if we accidentally bumped them. No on/off switches on the bedside lights, and no ashtrays in our smoking room. The only true bright spots were the kind housekeeper and evening clerk. Don't stay here.2020-09-04"

"There was no staff at the hotel from 6-10 PM. The lights in my room came on automatically 3 times between 1:15-3 AM until I could figure out how to get them to stay off. I used the phone in the lobby to check out, but it was just a recording with no helpful information. I slid my keys under the desk window and left. Don't stay here.2021-12-19"
"The motel had bedbugs. The staff was rude. I left early. Don't stay here.2020-08-15"
"My motel room had bedbugs. I was moved to another room after being bitten numerous times. The bedsheets had mold on them, and the toilet didn't flush properly. Breakfast was a joke. Expect the worst if you stay here.2019-12-25"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
