"The motel room was small and crammed with furniture. The AC controls were close to the floor and too tiny and dark to read; I had to kneel on the dirty carpet to adjust the temperature. 2019-05-07"
"If you want a nice motel, this isn't the place for you. It was more like indoor camping. Very basic room, nothing but a place to sleep.2015-07-19"
"The motel needed a sign in front; it took me forever to find it. The staff was nice. Make reservations here.2015-06-08"

"A scary place to stay. The door lock was broken, and no towels were provided. Don't stay at this motel.2018-09-03"
"The floor was filthy, and the alarm clock and lamps weren't plugged in. No pillowcases, towels, or even a shower curtain. We complained and a housekeeper put pillowcases on the pillows. The parking lot wasn't secure, and I didn't feel safe. Don't stay at this motel.2018-05-27"
"This motel was too noisy, but service was good and the housekeepers were attentive. Breakfast was provided. I recommend staying here.2016-05-13"
"Nice hotel, though the bed was a little too firm for us.2018-10-23"
"The room was fine for a night, but ask for one away from the freeway noise. The hotel clerk was helpful. OK continental breakfast, and the attendant kept things stocked. I did see a cockroach in the 1st floor hallway. 2018-01-31"
"Set back from the street, so I drove past it the 1st time. Easy check-in with no drama. The motel room was clean. The curtains were a little ratty, but the bed was comfortable and there was in-room coffee, a hair dryer, and shampoo.2017-11-18"
"Nice, affordable motel. The room was quite small, but decent for a few nights.2016-06-02"
"The motel room was new and nice, but the area was loud. I didn't get much sleep. Good breakfast. I left an item behind in the room, but never got a call back about it.2022-01-31"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
