"Across the street from the beach, and close to excellent restaurants and shops. This is a historic landmark motel built in hacienda style. It's older, which showed in some of the fixtures, but it's clean and well-maintained. The center courtyard has a pool, shops, and restaurants. Outstanding, accommodating staff. Everyone was friendly, efficient, and professional. No on-site parking, but street parking wasn't a problem for us even on a busy holiday weekend.2016-06-09"
"Convenient location with great views. The room was quiet and newly renovated, and the hotel staff was accommodating. Lots of services offered. I'd stay here again.2016-09-05"
"We found blood stains on the bedsheets after we'd gone to bed. Not a good hotel stay.2018-07-09"
"Good location, but not a good hotel stay. No fridge or microwave in the room. Internet access cost $18 for the night, and parking cost $35. 2015-09-23"
"The hotel room was average, and only a few of the electrical outlets worked. Limited counter space in the bathroom. Not enough toilet paper provided. On the bright side, the location was great, the pool area was nice, and the outdoor bellman was extremely helpful and kind.2017-05-17"
"Terrific location. The mattresses were terrible; I could hear the springs popping, and if I sat on the edge of the bed, I'd roll off. The hotel clerks were never helpful when I asked a question, but the bellhops and valets were excellent. Parking fees were ridiculous.2015-08-12"
"The hotel was convenient and high quality. Nice, spacious room with a comfortable, clean bed. Exceptional pool and workout room. The restaurant was great, and there were other restaurants within walking distance.2016-08-07"

"Good place to stay. The hotel staff was friendly, and the breakfast buffet was excellent.2018-10-06"
"My only complaint was that there was no trash can in the living area of the hotel room.2017-04-03"
"I called the hotel clerk about getting ice and was told to take the bucket for the ice maker in the fridge to the bar and they'd fill it with ice. On my way down, a maintenance worker offered to take care of it for me, and even came to the room and showed me how to turn on the ice maker in the fridge.2015-11-17"
"Seemed overpriced for the quality. I could hear people in the room next to mine. No toiletries provided. Don't recommend. There are nicer hotels for the same price.2015-10-06"
"I liked the location. My room wasn't as clean as it should have been, and had some fruit flies living in it. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.2015-03-19"
"Located in a very popular tourist area, so if you want quiet, ask for a room near the back of the building. Our room was compact, but extremely comfortable and well thought out. It was perfect for a solo traveler or a couple not planning to spend much time at the hotel.2016-05-17"
"The hotel was old. The room was small and had an old window AC and steam radiator. The shower was small and there was no hot water. At least the bed was fine. The elevator was gated. Friendly staff. Next time I'll pay a little more and stay at a better place.2019-09-28"
"The wireless Internet didn't work in my hotel room. The elevator was difficult to use. Find another place to stay.2017-09-12"
"Old hotel. AC was noisy and didn't cool the room. It was replaced the last day of our stay, but that just left dust hovering in the room. Bathroom was dated and had poor lighting. The shower was too small, and the fan was too loud. Good housekeeping, though. Elevator door was hard to open. Brian's Restaurant staff wasn't friendly. Don't stay here.2015-02-18"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
