"The hotel was nice and had a friendly atmosphere. Our room was quite comfortable, and everything was clean and well-kept. The staff was helpful. The rates were reasonable, but be prepared to pay for parking.2018-06-19"
"The room was cozy and comfortable; some rooms had a fireplace. We were in town for my mother's funeral; the hotel staff put a condolence card and bouquet of flowers in our room. We'd definitely stay here again.2018-09-27"
"A fantastic hotel. If you have a problem with stairs, ask for a 1st floor room.2018-02-13"
"Right down the road from Santana Road and the Westfield Mall. Great boutique hotel; upgrades had been well done. My only complaint was that I found a few hairs on my pillow the 1st night. The front desk clerks were always nice and helpful, as were the housekeepers. The complimentary breakfast with Peet's coffee was a nice perk. Ask for room away from the main street, and be prepared to pay for rides everywhere if you don't have a car.2016-07-19"
"We loved this hotel; it was a pleasant surprise. The room was clean, bright, and airy, with a nice little kitchen area. Easy check-in, and the clerk was friendly. I highly recommend staying here.2021-05-25"
"An excellent experience. We were well received when we arrived, and the hotel clerk even made sure the room was clean. All the employees had smiles and greeted us, as well as providing directions to a great restaurant, Armadillo Willy's. We'd definitely stay here again.2018-07-18"
"This hotel is a no-frills place, but it was a perfect spot to rest my head after a busy day. Good transit links, but the neighborhood had social issues; not a great place for kids.2023-10-17"

"Not a good hotel stay. The employees weren't polite or welcoming.2020-03-02"
"I was 100% pleased with the hotel room and staff. Stay here.2017-11-24"
"Nice location not far from the airport. The room had modern decor and a partial view of the mountain. The bathroom had bright and warm lighting, and the counter had a granite top. The only downsides at this hotel were that the exhaust fan in the bathroom came on automatically with the light, and I had to pay for Internet access.2015-11-04"
"A lovely hotel in the heart of downtown, and within walking distance of San Jose State University. The room was small and had basic amenities, but the bed was really comfortable. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the on-site restaurant, Il Fornaio. It was tastefully decorated, and the service was good.2022-05-28"
"Great hotel experience. The interior was great, and the room was nice. Wonderful staff. Definitely stay here.2017-06-06"
"Nice hotel. Parts of it were a little dated, but it was undergoing renovation. The staff was friendly, helpful, and polite. Good on-site Italian restaurant. Highly recommend.2015-04-06"
"Not happy about the Internet fee, or with the staff. I was with a large group, and it wasn't a great experience. Even bottled water wasn't free. Not worth the price.2015-04-15"

"Conveniently located hotel. Quiet room with a comfortable bed. The entire staff was great, and always answered my questions promptly, professionally, and courteously. The workout room was satisfactory. Ask for a room facing the street since a train passes by the back side of the building. My stay was perfect.2016-02-05"

How Do We Define Motel?
To us, motels are smaller lodgings that have rooms you can enter directly from the parking area.
At hotels, on the other hand, you can enter your room only through a hall inside the building.
Hotel Booking Tips
Beware of non-refundable reservations that could cost you a lot of money if you change or cancel them. +Non-refundable reservations are a gamble that will usually save you less than $10. If you make a $90 non-refundable reservation instead of a $100 refundable booking, you are betting $90 to win $10. Would you do that in Las Vegas? -
Don't assume you can cancel a non-refundable reservation without penalty if you notify the hotel weeks or even months in advance. +Often you cannot because some hotels' profit strategy is to get paid more than once for the same room for the same night. -
Always read cancellation policies carefully before you make a reservation. + When is the latest date and time you can cancel without penalty? - More >
When you make a reservation, you will receive a confirmation email. Take a copy with you to the hotel.
The earlier in the afternoon you check into a hotel, the more likely you will get a room or suite that matches your preferences.
